Hello everyone reading and welcome to Borrowed Rounds- the musings of a Golf obsessed dad of 3, who between a busy work and family schedule uses that Borrowed time to play the game I love. I have found a passion for writing about all aspects of the game. As you will probably be able to tell from this initial post I am far from a polished writer. I’m just a regular guy who is passionate about golf and has found putting the proverbial pen to paper to be a creative release. The aim of my site is to share blog posts on whatever subject peaks my interest and hopefully you will find enjoyment reading along.
Before I get into the details of what you can expect to find here, a quick introduction about myself. I live with my partner and 3 children in Yorkshire, England. I was first introduced to the game when i was around 10/11 years old and was hooked from the start. During my junior years I managed to play at an ‘ok’ level and held a single figure handicap and became completely obsessed with the game. However, as I moved into my late teens, other sports—and the usual distractions a teenage boy faces—took priority, and golf took a back seat. Now in my mid 30’s I have fallen back in love with the game. Unlike my junior days however, like most adult golfers, these rounds have to fit in with a busy work and family life.
So what you can expect to find here at Borrowed Rounds? There’s no set lane for the topics I’ll cover here. Instead, the blog will follow whatever golf-related thoughts I find myself pondering that week. That being said I do aim to provide some regular features such as ‘The Club Championship’ series which follows my journey to win my club championship. Other more regular features you will find are the ‘Borrowed Round Course Recaps’ covering courses played. Alongside these regular features there will be articles covering anything from a player spotlight to the history of golf in an area.
